The mysterious girl from the Vermeer painting who was transformed into the hero of the bestselling novel by Tracy Chevalier, finds her place on the big screen. The bright young girl, daughter to a poor Calvinist family, moves to the city of Delft to work as a servant for the Vermeer family. There, she catches the eye of the painter, who begins to craft her portrait.
