Based on the true story of a British reporter, Michael Nicholson, who worked in besieged Sarajevo in 1992. The film follows his emotional attachment to the city and its people, particularly a group of orphans, as he documents the horrors of life during the war. It explores the journalist’s involvement in the reality he is covering and depicts the grimness, black humor, and banality of life in a warzone, combining documentary footage with dramatized scenes.
