Towards the end of World War II, King Michael of Romania made a bold move to break away from Nazi Germany by deposing General Ion Antonescu, thereby aligning with the Allies. This decision took both the Allies and Hitler by surprise, the latter ordering the destruction of Romania in response. With the support of his mother, Queen Elena—honored as a ‘Righteous Among the Nations’—King Michael also initiated rescue operations for Romania's Jewish population. Featuring interviews with historians and the king, this film presents a pivotal historical moment that deserves attention.
