In late 2020, as the world enters COVID-19 lockdown, Shinsaku, an employee of a large Tokyo-based company, seeks a peaceful escape where he can continue his hobby of fishing while working remotely. He settles in the seaside town of Minamisanriku, which seems like the perfect place to balance both. However, there’s one hurdle: the locals are wary of outsiders, especially those from Tokyo. Over time, Shinsaku gradually earns their trust, and they, in turn, grow accustomed to his presence. Set against the backdrop of the tenth anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami, the film explores themes of healing, adaptation, and the quiet process of rebuilding both the community and individual connections.
