Before the Rain

By means of three simple plots, director Milcho Manchevski tries to unravel the enigma of the violence tearing the Balkans apart. The main charm of Before the Rain rests on its incredible visual power, on its poetic touch, on the impressive presence of the entire cast, on the mesmerizing musical soundtrack, and above all on the sophisticated structure and the surprising way in which everything is wrapped up and resolved at the end.
