Elephant

Shot in documentary-like style, Van Sant follows a day in the life of a number of high school students. The seemingly ordinary day ends with an outburst of incomprehensible violence. Avoiding psychological explanations, the result is an almost abstract work dealing with the relationship between us, the viewers, and the violence.
