In the Year of the Pig

In 1968, at the height of the Vietnam War, American documentarist Emile de Antonia directed the film before us, a bitter indictment of the American involvement in Vietnam. De Antonio, constructs this film in classic montage style, combining materials from different sources, alongside interviews with politicians, soldiers and citizens from both sides. Without narration, and with a clear Marxist approach, de Antonio takes the viewer through the history of foreign influence in Vietnam, from French colonization and up to the present of the film.
