The Shower

A snobbish Yuppie returns to his sleepy home town in the south of China after a long absence in Beijing. There he meets his aging father and his mentally retarded brother. Little by little, he begins to appreciate the delicate relationship between his father and brother, and to look fondly at his father's business - a public shower house which caters to the strangest of clients. . . With no complex plot twists or stylistic pretense, this is a simple and universal film about family relations and about a slowly disappearing world.
