In 2015, filmmaker and anthropologist, Mantas Kvedaravičius, arrived at Mariupol, Ukraine, to document its residences. The result was a beautifully made kaleidoscopic portrait of a city hanging on to life. After the Russian invasion in 2022, Kvedaravičius returned to Mariupol, but was captured and executed by the Russians. His partner, Hanna Bilobrova, managed to rescue his footage, from which this film is formed: a portrait of a city at war with imagery of tragedy and hope.
