Alejandro González Iñárritu’s second film follows three plot lines that come together following a tragic accident. In the first, a mathematician is waiting for a heart transplant while his wife is trying to get pregnant before her husband's heart gives out. In the second, a released prisoner repents and finds solace with Jesus. In the third, a woman goes back and forth between the destructive path of her youth and a stable and happy family life.
