Marcel Marceau is undoubtedly the world’s most famous mime. With his gestures and facial expressions alone, the mime known as “Bip” captured audiences around the globe for decades. But the tragic background behind his work has remained hidden for a long time. His father was killed in Auschwitz. Marceau joined the French Resistance, and together with his cousin, smuggled Jewish children to safety. THE ART OF SILENCE sheds new light upon Marceau’s life and unique art form, which inspired and accompanied several generations of artists and lives to this day.
