Screening & Conversation with Gil Yefman

For over a decade, Gil Yefman’s work has explored, reflected on, and challenged Holocaust memory – its modes of representation, its narratives, traumatic memories, and mnemonic implications. Utilising archival materials and documents from the Holocaust and the liberation of the Nazi camps as points of departure, his work encompasses various artistic strategies and media, often using soft materials to approach hard subject matter.

The trans-disciplinary conceptual artist talks about his creative working process and shares how his unique artistic language has developed.

The event includes the screening of video art, and is accompanied by an introduction from Dr. Noga Stiassny (European Forum, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem).

Supported by: Cardinal Franz König Chair in Austrian Studies, the Center for Austrian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Visual History of the Holocaust - Rethinking Curation in the Digital Age.
