Scriptwriter Charlie Kaufman is trying to write a screen adaptation of Susan Orlean's non-fiction The Orchid Thief. While he struggles with writer's block and becomes obsessed with his characters, his twin brother Donald also decides to become a screenwriter and quickly churns out a blockbuster script. Adaptation is a delightfully confusing quirky work.
