Alon Gur Arye (in Heb.) on how Groundhog Day became the staple for time loops and on other time traveling and loops adventures

USA 1993 | 101 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

Phil Connors is an agitated TV weatherman sent to cover Groundhog Day, the day in which a groundhog's shadow heralds the coming of Spring. Somehow, he gets caught in time and wakes up morning after morning to the same day. No one else seems to notice the mistake, and this gives Phil numerous attempts at winning the heart of his lovely producer. Groundhog Day is a brilliant comedy, one of the best films of the 1990s', with an exceptional self-aware performance by the great Bill Murray.
