A high school student has an affair with her teacher, resulting in a daughter. The grandmother raises the child as her own, but soon the mother wants the child back. Thou shalt not steal refers to both mother and grandmother.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. During WWII, a Catholic woman is fearful to adopt a Jewish girl. The girl, now a mature woman living in America, travels to Warsaw to meet with a renowned professor of moral philosophy. The professor turns out to be the same woman from years before.
