Beyond the White

Beyond the polar circle in Northern Russia, a few dozen people still live in their traditional houses surrounded by water, stone, and sand. Cut off from vital infrastructure, almost forgotten by regional governance, these people have to cope with their everyday struggle. Nature and culture conduct a new post-Soviet relationship, leaving ample room for beauty, noiselessness, giving up on what could have been, and for modest dreams about what could be.
