Deep Dive is a performative screening of a short excerpt from the Israeli Film Archive – The Nathan Axelrod Newsreel Collection at the Jerusalem Cinematheque. The event focuses on a short cinematic object, giving it the attention that it never received. Artists, historians, and scholars respond and shed light on the historical film during the screening, pointing to hidden elements and offering an opportunity to enjoy the power of cinema to serve as a “time machine.” The short excerpt will be screened over and over throughout the event, gaining another layer of knowledge or interpretation with each iteration, so that at the end of the event, without anything changing in the footage itself – it will be experienced in an entirely new way.
Admission: 20 NIS / Members: free entry
