1959, a sleepy English town. Florence, a war widow, purchases an old house and plans to open a book shop. In her way stands Mrs. Gamart, who will do all she can to prevent scandalous books to become available to the townsfolk. A wonderful British drama, boasting tremendous performances and a touch of eccentricity.
