The Jewish Film Festival proudly announces the winners of its International and Israeli Competitions
WINNER OF THE 2022 SCHOUMANN AWARD FOR JEWISH CINEMA:
NEIGHBOURS, DIRECTED BY MANO KHALIL
The Jury of the JJFF 2022 decided to give the award for Best Film to NEIGHBOURS, directed by Mano Khalil. The film is told with a precise and poetic cinematic language, with an unusual story. Told from the point of view of a child – and showing the relationship between neighbors - it is an homage toward Arab/Kurdish/Jewish understanding.
HONORARY MENTION:
MARCH 68, DIRECTED BY KRZYSZTOF LANG
An Honorary Mention is awarded to MARCH 68, directed by Krysztof Lang. The film brings to the screen a story that has nearly been forgotten, depicting the impending antisemitism in Poland in 68. The director touches the theme bravely, with impressive production, showing how young people take responsibility in a time of unrest.
