Jeanine Meerapfel is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer. She lives in Berlin. Born in Buenos Aires, she attended journalism school and worked as an editor and journalist. Her first feature film, Malou, was awarded the 1981 Cannes FIPRESCI Award. Numerous award-winning documentaries and feature films include Im Land meiner Eltern (1981), La Amiga (1988), Amigomío (1995), Anna’s Summer (2001). In 2012 she was awarded a Life Achievement Award at the International Film Festival Innsbruck. Ms. Meerapfel is a former Professor of Film & Television at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and is President of the Berlin Academy of Arts. Ms. Meerapfel joins us with her documentary film, A Woman.
