The Man Who Sued God

Australia 2001 | 102 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

When Steve Myers abandons his family's tradition and decides to be a fisherman rather than a lawyer, his career choice makes life difficult: his brother is ashamed of him, and his wife and daughter distance themselves. It looks as if even the Almighty is displeased with our hero, and in an act that will later be defined as "divine intervention" (and therefore not compensated by the insurance company), strikes Steve's fishing boat with lightning. Steve decides to sue and gets into a legal-theological whirlwind that will also bring him into the arms of a militant journalist named Lana. A modest and enjoyable romantic comedy.
