Leonard Cohen – I’m Your Man

USA 2006 | 105 minutes | English | Hebrew subtitles

At age 71 Leonard Cohen agreed to give in (just a bit) to the cameras. Constructed around a 2005 tribute performance at Sydney’s Opera House, Leonard Cohen - I’m Your Man is a celebratory mix of concert and documentary. Filmed during this concert, Cohen tells of his childhood in Canada, about the inspiration of synagogue music on his work, about his career, about his image as a singer and as a ladies man. Since bursting onto the scene in 1967, Cohen has inspired generations with his unique personality and haunting music, becoming one of the most original and enduring artists to emerge from the 1960s. He has influenced performers from Nick Cave to Rufus Wainright and Bono, each of whom makes an impassioned and thrilling appearance here to celebrate Cohen’s 70th birthday. The result is a moving portrait of a great artist.
