With access to over three million previously unpublished images and documents from the archive of legendary street photographer and fashion historian Bill Cunningham, first-time filmmaker Mark Bozek offers a uniquely intimate look at the New York and fashion icon. Told in Cunningham’s own words—drawn from a recently unearthed 1994 interview—the film captures his characteristically cheerful and plainspoken reflections. He recounts moonlighting as a milliner in France while serving in the Korean War, his move to New York in 1948, his close relationship with First Lady Jackie Kennedy, his early steps into photography, and his liberated, deeply democratic view of fashion.
