Talk to Her

Spain 2002 | 112 minutes | Spanish | Hebrew subtitles

The curtain rises on Pina Bausch's Café Müller, where two strangers—Benigno, a male nurse, and Marco, a 40-year-old writer—sit side by side. Moved to tears, Marco longs to share emotion, but Benigno hesitates. Months later, they meet at El Bosque Clinic, where Marco’s girlfriend Lydia, a matador, and Benigno’s patient Alicia, a young dancer, lie in comas. As time passes, the lives of the four drift between past and future, converging toward a strange, inevitable fate. "Talk to Her" is Almodóvar at his best: moving delicately between the sublime and the ridiculous, between laughter and tears, between bitterness and sweetness, between reality and fantasy.
