It Must Schwing! The Blue Note Story

USA 2018 | 115 minutes | English, German | Hebrew, English subtitles

In 1939, Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff, two young Jewish refugees, founded legendary jazz label Blue Note Records in New York. The label dedicated itself to American jazz music and developed its own style and sound. At a time when African-American musicians faced legal discrimination, Blue Note Records respected them as artists and equals. Featuring Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, and Sonny Rollins, It Must Schwing! tells the story of two friends, united by a passion for jazz and their profound belief in equality and freedom.
