What do we see when we look at nature? A breathtaking landscape, a wild world unfolding beyond our own, or an intricate web of life of which we are part? This program invites us to slow down and look closer: at the life teeming within an ancient oak, the depths of the ocean, flocks of flamingos, forests and wetlands, and the animals that share our world—and sometimes our screens.
To look at nature is also to look at ourselves. Moving between wonder and humor, curiosity and reflection, these films blur the boundaries between the human and the wild, between observer and observed. Here, nature is not a backdrop to the human story, but a rich, complex world that we inhabit and depend upon.
An invitation to curiosity, the program asks us to look again at what we think we know and discover just how strange, surprising, and alive it can be. Sometimes, a small shift in perspective is all it takes for a tree, a bird, a cat, or a landscape to become a world of its own—and for our place within it to look different too.
