Thirteen-year-old Ricky Baker is so unruly that no foster family will have him—until Bella and Hec Falconer become his last chance. Just as Ricky begins to feel at home, circumstances send him and Hec fleeing into the New Zealand wilderness, with child welfare authorities in pursuit. Before Thor and Jojo Rabbit, Taika Waititi turned this unlikely escape into a wonderfully warm, witty adventure, blending action, humor and emotion with his singular understanding of human nature.
