Atlantis takes place in 2025 in the post-apocalyptic regions of eastern Ukraine. The authorities are building a wall along the border and water is a valuable commodity. Sergei, a former soldier, finds it difficult to adapt to the new reality in this cursed location. Upon setting out on a special mission at the burial site of war victims, he meets Katya. Together, they attempt to create a hint of normalcy and might even allow themselves to fall in love. Atlantis was one of the most surprising and unique films unveiled last year at the Venice Film Festival, where it received the top prize of the Orizzonti Competition. It was described by Variety as "a strong piece of poetically pure art-house cinema."
